Studio Policies

Tuition is based on a monthly or set-week session depending on the class. Tuition is due on the 1st of the month unless otherwise stated in the that classes payment terms. Tuition is non-refundable.  If the monthly payment is received after the 7th day of the month a $5 late-fee will automatically be applied. Annual registration fee is $15 and is non-refundable.

Tuition is based on either a set number of weeks or a monthly basis depending on the class. Tuition will be consistent even in the event of a planned vacation week within a month. Two snow days are calculated into the overall monthly tuition (per class day).  In the event a class day exceeds the two-time limit, the class will be made up. There will be no refunds if you are unable to attend the make-up day.  To check if there is a snow day please visit the website or our Facebook page. In the event the class is unexpectedly cancelled by the instructor, either a refund (equal to a percentage of monthly class costs) or a make-up date will be offered. This will be discussed on a per-class basis.  In the event a dancer is sick on their class day, it is recommended they miss class due to keep others from getting sick. However, this class cannot be made up.  If the dancer will be out of class for an extended period of time, an exception may be made for a make up class, however, any additional fee (i.e. studio rental) will be at the expense of the dancer.  If a dancer is injured it is recommend that they attend class, to watch. Absence due to injury cannot be made up.

Dance Level Evaluation
In order to place students in the appropriate dance class, it may be necessary to attend a pre-evaluation session. These will be arranged at the studio’s discretion.  If  you are interested in classes but aren’t sure what class is best for you email us at

Dress Code
Appropriate dance attire is required for all classes. For clogging classes, it is recommended students where athletic pants such as yoga, or jazz pants.  T-shirts and tank tops are allowed provided they provide sufficient coverage and are appropriate.  It is imperative that we can see your feet and body movements. Form fitting clothing is required.

At all times, dancers represent the studio. Dancers are expected to treat others with respect. Attitudes, aggressive or combative behavior or negative talk about others will not be tolerated at SlapStep Studios.  This goes for students and parents alike.

There will be no gum chewing in the studio at all.  Food/drinks will only be allowed in designated areas. Each dancer must take all dance gear with them when leaving the studio. We are not responsible for any articles left at the studio.  It is important that all dancers leave the studio or any events we attend, cleaner than when we arrived.  All dancers are expected to clean up after themselves. A fee may apply should a student leave excess trash/articles in the studio.

Parents are allowed to watch classes when the studio set up allow it, however, no parents are allowed in class with their dancer. Parents can often be distracting to children, so it’s often best if watch from behind the glass or just attend the recital.  Any young children not currently in a class must be kept on close watch by their parents. Any damage caused by a child not in a class is the expense of the parent.  Parents are expected to be on-time to drop off and pick up their children. The studio is not responsible for any student before or after a class starts.  If you are going to be late, please contact the instructor at 970-315-CLOG, otherwise it is assumed you will be there to pick up your child immediately after class.

Dance shoes should not be worn outside the studio, without prior permission.  Winter shoes should be left at the doorway and are never allowed in a studio to help prevent damage to the floor.

In the event that a studio class travels to an event, it is the responsibility of the parent to ensure that the student arrives on time. The studio does not take any responsibility for any students traveling for the studio. If the parent is unable to attend the event, they will need to make arrangements with another adult attending the event. This includes hotel stays, travel, dancer behavior and all arrangements and costumes. Instructors traveling to the event are not allowed to be responsible for any dancers unless they do so on a personal basis.

Thank you for your understanding of our Studio Policies! We thrive to make a positive dance environment for all of our students!
